Jasmine is a longstanding and well-known Fredericton, New Brunswick, artist who has shown her work in several exhibitions throughout Atlantic Canada, and beyond. She works in various media, but has spent most of her career exploring techniques in weaving and other textiles, including woven basketry. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
She has also been an art instructor for over twenty years, first at the Fibre Arts Studio at the NB College of Craft and Design, where she was Studio Head for one year, after which she moved into teaching part-time in order to raise her two young daughters.
For over two decades, Jasmine has been a juried member of both the New Brunswick Craft Council and the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador, her home province. While she has lived in NB since 1996, her heart has never really left her native Newfoundland, where ties continue to run deep.
Jasmine's work can be purchased directly from the artist at her home studio, or at various select shows and shops in Atlantic Canada.
In recent years, Jasmine has taught private workshops, at various venues. Her workshops have been described as "peaceful" and "meditative".
She also regularly teaches workshops through both Fredericton's summer edVentures program and the city's winter FROSTival program.
